Week 15 Results, Week 16 Schedule and Make-ups
All matches must be completed by end of day Thursday, 8/7. Please play matches during the week, before play, do double/triple cards if necessary or play after your regular match. Anything not played by the end of the day will go down as a 1-1 split regardless of the story. If your make-up is on the front and you want to match cards using the back, that is acceptable!
Before we go to Week 15 results, let’s take a quick look at the standings
While there’s some teams that are clearly cut adrift and don’t have a chance of playoffs (two bottom teams). Mathematically, the team of Kane-El Commish-Marty-Bobby Z have a chance to make playoffs. They would need the team of Dickie-Jon-Paul-Jim to lose all of their Week 16 matches and all of their outstanding make-ups while also winning all of their outstanding matches and planned matches. So, they are more than likely out.
The team of Fabulous-Steve-Burns-Kirkby have a chance, but they will need results to go their way in other matches. They have four outstanding makeups (one for each golfer for 8 pts total, not including team point), so will need to take most if not all of those points and do well in Week 16 to gain ground. Much more of a chance, but still tight margins to get into playoffs
Team of Dickie-Jon-His Holiness Pope Bendover-Sandbagger Morgan are in a pretty strong position. They have five outstanding makeups (3 with Jon Carroll, 2 with His Holiness). Paired with regular play, that’s 18 total points (not including team points) that they could make some serious push up the standings if results go their way. Their goal for Week 16 is just not get blown out and get 50/50 results
DJ-Merritt-Dan-Prucha have four outstanding matches heading into Week 16 (Merritt 2 matches, Dan 1, Prucha 1). This team has a pretty pivotal week: They face off against the leaders and one of those additional Make-ups is Dan Mahar v. Jon Carroll. That single make-up might determine seeding if there’s no major results against the leaders.
While mathematically possible to miss playoffs for the top two teams, it seems unlikely. Connor-Bill John-Dean Mott-Fig have four matches outstanding (Bill John 3, Connor 1), so they could even overtake the leaders before play even starts on Week 16. Donahue-Mooney-Hawk-Haberern have three outstanding matches (Donahue 1, Mooney 1, Haberern 1). With these two teams, its more a question of what seed will they finish for that playoff push.
Should be an exciting week of TBO action, see you all out there!
